While part of the in house team at Sony London Studio, we created a unique UI design language for VR to represent the protagonist, Ryan Mark’s, “Military Mind”.

Research

Exploring real military symbolism and iconography, combining handwritten elements to showcase the character’s personality. The primary idea behind the UI being was that it was coming directly from the character’s memory and not a part of a traditional HUD.

Style Exploration

Explorations In Engine

We tested our style direction by creating 360° videos to showcase how the designs would work in a 3D environment, and created assets to be tested in engine.

We used multiple tools including VR such as sketching, simulation and preview software that were all essential to allow us to improve the readability, accessibility, composition and colour design of the UI.
